With apologies for being quiet so long!

Yeah, I’m sorry it’s been months since I last posted on this blog. I can say the beginning of the year came with something of a shock as I learned that my publisher was having difficulties and Amber Quill Press was set to close its doors at the end of March, 2016.

It also means that my books are no longer available to purchase (well, unless you’re prepared to pay a ridiculous price for a paperback!).

It also proved there was some truth in the saying about not having all your eggs in one basket! Seeing as I had published my three novels with the same publisher I needed to find a new publisher for each of my publications. I admit that I originally approached Amber Quill as I also published gay romance books with them under a separate pen name (Stevie Woods) – and I admit I found it considerably easier to find other publishing deals for those books as I also worked with other publishers for that genre and those publishers were happy to accept my books for republication.

I have approached other publishers for my L.S. Gibson novels, so far, sadly, without any luck.

I have two other options: trying to get an Agent, or self-publishing. I’m still undecided as to which is the better avenue to pursue. I have done some self-publishing under my other pen name but only for short stories.

I think I’ll approach a couple of agents to see what response I might get, holding the self-publication in reserve for the time being.

I’ll let folk know when I have some more news.

Eynan 3 Progress – or otherwise

As I reported last week the third Eynan novel is progressing, though I have to admit it’s not going quite as well at the moment. I’ve hit a plot quandary that needs sorting out so my writing has slowed down somewhat.

Still, it’s better to sort out any problems now before the words get put onto paper rather than have to come back in the future to make corrections. Nothing worse than having to re-write something I thought was good only to discover it’s not working.

Update on my WIP!

I mentioned early last month that I was working on a third Eynan novel (for which I still don’t have a working title). It was slow going at first, I didn’t seem to be able to get a hang on the story that would get my writing juices going. Then a couple of weeks ago things began to get better, still a bit on the slow side but a definite improvement. This week has been so much better, I actually managed to write two chapters this week. Now that still means I’ve only just finished chapter six so still a long way to go, but considering it took me a month to write the first four chapters, I don’t think writing the last two in 4 days is bad going:)

Hopefully I’ll be able to keep the flow going – fingers crossed – and I’ll continue to post about my progress.

The Eynan 2: Garileon, Kindle version

 

I had hoped to be able to post the URL to the Amazon release of the ebook version of Garileon, but sadly not yet. I’m not sure what’s behind the delay, my publisher or Amazon, but either way it’s still not available.

It is, of course, possible to get the ebook through the publisher’s site, or through All Romance eBooks and I think the .prc version can be read on the Kindle.
