I just read a post on the blog EatReadRate by author Catherine E McLean which, in part, addressed the situation that the author is female, and that she considered she was writing fiction for women. I have to admit that the gender of my readers never occurred to me. As I state in my short comment at the end of Catherine’s article: I honestly didn’t think in those terms when writing my stories. That’s just what they are, stories for people to read and hopefully enjoy.
It made me wonder if I was being naive, but if I am that’s just the way it is because I write the way I feel, the words come flowing out (albeit sometime very slowly) and tell the story to the world, not to one person, nor one gender, but to whoever wishes to know. I hope that whoever reads my books enjoys those words!
